the thing is that …
the thing is that you can’t say what your times are going to be..it never works out..you have to swim them to say them
June 7th, 2010 at 11:50 am
actually a lot of …
actually a lot of guys have gone sub-47 relay start: in addition to the 3 you mentioned, sullivan, van den hoogenband, walters, adrian, biedermann, bousquet, magnini, hayden, and nystrand, and maybe some others who I’m not thinking of! no one’s been sub-46
June 7th, 2010 at 11:50 am
No one has EVER …
No one has EVER gone below 46 lc, not even with a flying start. Great swim for Russian in lane 8….
June 7th, 2010 at 11:50 am
everyteam was…
everyteam was…
June 7th, 2010 at 11:50 am
haha so your saying …
haha so your saying if they would have replaced one guy somehow magically they all would have gone under 47? newsflash buddy, only 3 people have gone under 46 with or without a relay start: bernard, jason lezak and cesar cielo. gilot no way could have gone 47.0, neither could leavauk could have gone 46, and bousquet could not go 46 low.
June 7th, 2010 at 11:50 am
the only reason why …
the only reason why france did not win is b/c meynard was 48.3 and bousquet’s 47.4 if they went with bernard, gilot, levaux, bousquet they would have won because bernard would of probably been under 47 on his leadoff because that was his first swim. Gilot would has been 47.0 relay start and if he replicated that or even faster. Levaux i think could have been 46 relay start because of his short course world record. And bousquet has been 46.6 so with a better position he could go a 46 low

Ha france still cnt …
Ha france still cnt beat our relay

Whats with russia …
Whats with russia getting 2nd? How r they that good?
June 7th, 2010 at 11:50 am
phelps is a better …
phelps is a better swimer
but that´s because he is more complete and because he swims in more races.
cielo can only swim 50 and 100 freestyle, and that means that he is faster than phelps in those races, but he can only swim in two races.
SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH
June 7th, 2010 at 11:50 am
Cielo is clearly …
Cielo is clearly the best sprinter. Did you not see the first leg? No one was anywhere near him. He was the only one that beat the world record line. He’s not exactly the man of the race, but that’s only because the rest of his really wasn’t as good. Had they placed in the top 3 he definately would have been called that. And I’m not even a fan of him, but at least i give credit where credit’s due.
June 7th, 2010 at 11:50 am
Because Cielo swam …
Because Cielo swam the fastest leg out of all the other athletes in this relay event. Wow. Look at that. I very logically explained that. Surely you could’ve thought of that in the 2 minutes it took you to write that comment. And USA is wearing state-of-the-art bodysuits too. Wow. You’ve thought things out weeellllll…
June 7th, 2010 at 11:50 am
And I Really think …
And I Really think you didn´t check the NCAA results and the world championship in 2007 to see how fast was his growth.
June 7th, 2010 at 11:50 am
So Why Bousquet …
So Why Bousquet never beats Cielo? And you have to remember Cielo is Still 22 years, and already with 19 he was already recognized a great sprinters, with much coachs seeing the potential for him to be the best of his generations. His NCAA records are from before LZR or any other suits and even the Jaked Powered Swimmers can´t get even close to his times in yards.
June 7th, 2010 at 11:50 am
Cielo is good but …
Cielo is good but he wasn’t ‘the man of the race’ like most of his fans are posting here! Frankly, I think Bosquet of France is an even better sprinter than Cielo! We’ll see next year without the suits if Cielo is so dominant. Remember, Phelps and Piersol were dominant way back in 2001 without suits, how long has Cielo been on the international scene?
June 7th, 2010 at 11:50 am
Kind of fun …
Kind of fun listening to this.. the world champion of 100 and 50m, WR of 100m, Olympic Champion of 50. Even Phelps acknowledges Cielo as the best sprinter… anyone who knows a little of swimming knows that suits or not, we will continue having a dominance of guys like Cielo, Phelps, Peirsol, Bieldermann. It makes me sick to see such an idiotic comment.
June 7th, 2010 at 11:50 am
That’s stupid! How …
That’s stupid! How can Cielo be the man of the race? The US came 1st, Russia 2nd and France 3rd! Where was Cielo? Brazil didn’t even medal! I wish the Cielo fans would just shut up! Next year without the suits will we even hear about Cielo? Ummm…no! USA and Russia rocks!
June 7th, 2010 at 11:50 am
if you even read my …
if you even read my comments, i never said micheal phelps was faster. i said he is the greatest swimmer and the greatest olympic athlete in history. he has 14 gold medals, more than any other person.
CIELO IS THE FASTEST, FASTER THAN MICHEAL PHELPS AND EVERYONE ELSE IN THE 100m race only, and he has held that title for a lot of ????? 2 months only. ppl on this website were claiming cielo “was the greatest swimmer ever”, which is not true at all.
June 7th, 2010 at 11:50 am
Did you just watch …
Did you just watch the video? One against one, Cielo beat Phelps very easily. Of course phelps is the bigest winner, but phelps is not a sprinter, cielo is. Why is it so hard to admit cielo is faster? Cielo is the 100m free world record holder. Phelps has never done in his life the time cielo did, how could be him faster?
