If I get a sports scholarship at a US university is a lower SAT accepted?

November 262009

I am applying to Stanford Univeristy to do Chemical Engineering and am also trying to get a swimming sports scholarship. Stanford is a really good university with a very high SAT score required to get in. If I am lucky enough to get the scholarship, does that mean that the university would accept a lower SAT from me to be accepted?

Usually athletes are accepted based on skill not grades so if they accept you then you can get the sports scholarship no the other way around.

For you to get a scholarship, you would first have to be accepted to the school. No school hands out scholarships to students that don’t meet the qualifications to get into the school.
